Artist Spotlight: Chevy Woods

Chevy Woods is a veteran in the hip hop game with a long career that is still growing with the release of his latest project Mask On. Woods has performed in over twenty tours and he doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon. His latest release builds off of the matured sound he developed on his debut album Since Birth (2020).  At first listen you find everything you'd expect from Woods with his premium beat selection and signature melodic delivery. But upon closer inspection you see new themes and content from the artist.

On the high energy opening track "SELF," Woods reminds us that anything we want can be acquired through self-preparation, self-dedication and self-manifestation. The next song "TXT ME" showcases a slightly more vulnerable side, demonstrating the artist's yearning for exclusivity and understanding. All in all there is no way to encapsulate the many sounds and vibes of  the project in mere words. If you're interested in Chevy Woods or just like good hip hop, Mask On is a must listen.
